Welcome to "Another Henry," the first Fake Journal created by writer Elizabeth Howard (that's me) for International Fake Journal Month.

What is IFJM?

I am not really sure, except it's a chance for artists and creatives like myself to go on with their love of journaling, beyond the scope of their own truths. It's fictional journaling. You can read more about it here. 

Why Henry?

I am fascinated by the idea of men's writing, and why men can write for both men and women, but that, by and large (excluding particular genres), women writers are labeled as chick lit or relegated to only female readership.

So, even though I don't want to BE a man, I thought it would be fun to create a fictional opportunity to explore a male identity and to tool around inside.

Also, I love the connection to Walden Pond and Thoreau. It's a trove of relevant ideas that intrigue me.

Is he like you?

I am not sure yet. He's an artist, so it will be interesting to see what he makes. I am pretty crappy at all visual art.

I'll be creating a paper journal AS Henry, following the storyline I started here, and sharing images of the journal pages on this blog. I can't wait to see how THAT turns out.
